Towards a sustainable and responsible digital society
The “Challenge of semiconductor technologies for the digital transformation of society” Chair, founded by Isep in partnership with Synopsys, explores the potential of semiconductors in digital transformation. Faced with today’s challenges, this chair’s mission is to study and develop technologies that place digital technology at the service of human beings. The aim of this partnership is to promote ethical technological innovation, and avoid reducing digital technology to a mere ephemeral or alienating commodity.
Mission and Vision of the Chair
The Chair aims to put semiconductor technology at the heart of sustainable digital transformation, by promoting solutions that meet society’s real needs. By integrating the expertise of Isep and Synopsys, it is committed to proposing responsible innovations, combining performance and ethics, for a technology that supports human and social progress.
Chair activities
The activities of the Semiconductor Technology Challenge Chair are organized around two main axes: teaching and research.
Teaching :
- Multidisciplinary projects: Development of student projects integrating themes related to semiconductors and digital transformation.
- Continuing education modules: Integration of professional modules for teachers wishing to specialize in the fields covered by the Chair, with the support of Synopsys trainers.
- Partnered courses: Courses taught jointly by Synopsys experts and Isep lecturers, offering students a learning experience enriched by academic and industrial perspectives.
Research:
- CIFRE thesis: Supervision of a thesis in partnership with Synopsys on the integration of AI in the optimization of microelectronic circuits, supported by a CIFRE agreement.
- R&D projects: Design of joint research and development projects, addressing themes critical to digital transformation and sustainability.
- Internships and student projects: Research internships at Synopsys for Isep students, as well as academic projects based on the Chair’s topics.
- Knowledge dissemination: Organization of seminars and webinars to share research advances with the scientific and industrial community.
