Your Engineering
Pathway
1st Year : common core
The first year of the engineering program provides a core curriculum based on the scientific and technical fields essential to the digital world: Electronics, computer science, telecommunications, signal processing, data science, and fundamental sciences. The curriculum is complemented with courses on business environment and organization, covering topics such as economics, finance, marketing, and social and environmental responsibility.
This first year begins with the “Enjeux et Métiers de l’Ingénieur” session, designed to introduce students to the world of engineers, and more specifically to the professions they practise:
- Lectures given by professionals who share their experiences and their engineering career paths (computer engineers, electronics engineers, telecom engineers…).
- Visits to companies and laboratories covering the full range of professions linked to digital technologies.
The Enjeux et Métiers de l’Ingénieur month is also an opportunity to introduce students to group work, in preparation for the new Project-Based Learning (APP) approach.
Project-based learning plays an important role in teaching the basics of computer science, electronics, signal processing and telecommunications.
The aim is to develop – via the possibilities offered by group work on a cross-disciplinary project running throughout the year – the skills that are essential for a successful start in the corporate world.
Naturally, these fundamentals are complemented by a variety of approaches, ranging from the classical to application-based projects.
In addition to these scientific and technical courses:
- Solid managerial training. Students learn about the corporate environment and organization, including economics, finance, marketing and CSR.
- General education, including a modern language in addition to English.
- General culture seminars.
These provide a broad perspective on all aspects of modern life.
2nd and 3rd : specialized courses
Starting the second year, the engineering program offers learning tracks that provide training for emerging professions. These tracks address the needs of businesses across various industries and sizes. You have the freedom to choose from the available tracks or to design a customized and cohesive curriculum that aligns perfectly with your aspirations, motivations, and values.
3 areas for a personalized track:
- The core of the program, with specific technical modules linked to the various digital fields. These modules define the technical direction of the course.
- A customization option, with a choice of additional technical or managerial courses or courses that broaden exposure to a variety of fields.
- A selection of modules in general education and management, as well as foreign languages

Your Path to Engineering Excellence
Project-Based Learning to Tackle Technological Challenges
Design and program a smart watch, develop artificial neural networks, invent an automated parking management system… Project-based learning is a central component of the curriculum, allowing students to engage with real-world challenges.
A Month-Long Seminar to Immerse You in Your Engineering pathway
The first year of the Engineering Cycle begins with the “Engineering Challenges and Careers” session. You will explore various professions through conferences led by industry professionals, visits to companies and laboratories. This period lays the foundation for project-based learning, immersing you in the exciting world of engineering from the very start.
Direct Interaction
We ensure direct interaction with professors and full immersion in the learning process. This approach promotes a deeper understanding of concepts and provides personalized guidance, ensuring a high-quality education.
International exposure
During the engineering program, all Isep students must complete at least one semester abroad, which can be one of the following:
- an academic semester. This experience takes place under ideal conditions, as Isep has established over 160 partnerships around the world, in addition to global exchange programmes with Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia (Erasmus+, MICEFA, BCI-PQEE, GE4, N+i, etc.).
- Internships on all five continents, supported by a strong network of partner companies and the Isep Alumni association.
Double degrees
The Isep Engineering Master’s Degree is robust enough to secure a first engineering job position, which is the path chosen by the vast majority of graduates. However, for students interested in acquiring additional skills and exploring new career opportunities, Isep offers access to six double degree programs in France and 25 international programs, typically requiring one or two additional semesters of study. These double Master’s degrees also serve as a stepping stone to doctoral studies worldwide.
